Halou: Wiser, at Cafe du Nord

When Halou ended, Rebecca and Ryan Coseboom formed Stripmall Architecture. On Saturday night, Stripmall Architecture celebrated the 10th anniversary of Halou’s Wiser by performing the entirety of the album at Cafe du Nord.

Excuses for Skipping opened the night. They were awesome.

Tremor Low was next.

Then, fog drifted across the stage, lit by incandescent bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Rebecca and Ryan Coseboom took the stage, joined by Patrick Harte on drums, Unwoman (Erica Mulkey) on cello, Maxine Nemerovski on Violin, and Greg Kehret on bass. They played Wiser in its entirety, Rebecca’s voice transporting me back to Vienna where I often listened to Halou to remind me of home.
